A
living cultural monument of the Brazilian Colonial Baroque architecture
 Between
the still untouched jungle of the Costa Verde and the ocean you can discover fantastic
landscape with many waterfalls and white beaches. Connoisseurs claim that they
are more beautiful than those of the Caribbean.
Paraty
This
architectural pearl of Brazilian Colonial Baroque architecture lies 200 km south
of Rio de Janiero where a large bay with numerous islands bordered by peninsulas.
For hundreds of years Paraty was the harbor for gold mined in Minas Gerais and
the luxury goods from Europe which were brought to the rich Fazendeiros in the
hinterland. After the locomotive connection between Rio and Sao Paulo was completed,
Paraty was given up and fell into ruins.
Since 1945 Paraty has been under national cultural monument protection and most
of the ruins have been rebuilt since then. Wrought-iron chains halt auto traffic
from alleyways plastered by natural stone. Advertising posters are banned. Behind
the colorful facades, gardens, often gigantic, can be found; Paraty, viewed from
above, looks like a garden landscape with abundant tropical flora. The city center
has only 5000 inhabitants. The openness and cordiality of the residents soon makes
one feel at home. Casa

This house, under monument protection since 1849, stands next to the church of
Santa Rita and the exhibition hall. Between 1993 and 1998 it was restored in colonial
style according to my plans.
From the house you can reach the wharf with
its fishing and excursion boats in only a few minutes. From there you can enjoy
the splendid view of the islands and the Serra do Mar with its highest peak, Pico
do Frade. The vacation home "Casa Amarela" surrounds a part of the patio garden
and, flooded with sun, has a peaceful and protected atmosphere.
You can rent this domicile for 4 persons. Including the garden, 110 sq. meters
are available for your use. This space includes a large high-ceilinged living
room with a double bed, a bedroom with a double bed and bath, as well as a well-equipped
kitchen with microwave, gas-stove and an adjoining shower and toilet. The house
is also equipped with a hammock and mosquito nets.
Excursions
The marvelous Beach of Trindade
Paraty has much to offer. Outings with fishing boats can be organized on the spur-of-the-moment.
A charter with a sail boat should be planned ahead, however. Divers will find
beautiful diving preserves. There are numerous diving schools offering courses
and excursions.
The horse rider will be pleased with the opportunities for
riding. Small bus tours to the beaches, waterfalls, Alambiques and Fazendas can
be arranged. Many beaches and other destinations may be reached with regular bus
service too. The wanderer has access to the magic of Paraty and its surroundings
with the untouched Mata Atlântica in a special way.

A
stay of one to two weeks in the CASA AMARELA (vacation home) is recommended to
discover and enjoy the beauty of this unusual city and natural environment.
The rental fee in the low season is US$ 97,00 for 2 persons
per day.
For the 3rd and 4th person we charge per day US$ 17,00.
The rental fee in the peak season, 1st Dec. to the 28th of Febr., is US$
127.- for 2 persons per day .For the 3rd and 4th person we charge per day
US$ 23,00.
Children up to 6 years do not pay. From 7 to 12
years we charge per day US$ 9,00.
You may rent CASA AMARELA for
your chosen period of time, minimum 2 days. However, I recommend that you
reserve promptly in order that I may take your desired dates into consideration.
We offer global prices
for Christmas + New Year US$ 990,00 for 5 days and 2 pers..
Carnival
US$ 1100,00 for 5 days and 2 persons.
For the Easter holydays and Pentecostas
we charge US$ 480.- for 3 days or

Payment
As with all vacation homes, the rental fee is due before your departure.
Your
reservation will be confirmed, when 50% of the rent has been transferred.
The rest is due two weeks before your departure.

Getting There
Book
a flight to Rio de Janeiro with Varig, American Airline, Delta Airline etc. and
take a blue radio taxi from the airport Galeão to the bus station (Rodoviaria)
and from there a travel-bus of the bus-company "Costa Verde" to Paraty.
Nine departures daily. The busses are new, comfortable, air-conditioned and stop
once for lunch. You drive along of one of the most beautiful shore-lines in the
world for four hours. As
soon as you have made your vacation plans, please send me your reservation wishes
